The simplicity of detail and line, the emotive quality of creation, the untold glories of people in their day-to-day – I love capturing the beauty that’s present in the ordinary, the kind of beauty that can inspire, challenge, and stir us to respond.
Whether it’s a DSLR, point and shoot, or even just my “old school” mobile phone, every camera provides an opportunity to capture beauty yet discovered and show it to the world.
I take a fine art approach in my work and enjoy shooting people in their everyday context and the beautiful details of life, nature, and architecture. I find that God speaks volumes to me about His grace and beauty as I capture life with my lens.
I’m also intrigued by how the art of “writing with light” can tell the story of God’s movement in the world right now. I believe that photography can communicate the amazing things God is doing globally through ordinary people, those who simply responded to God’s voice to go out and humbly serve the world, and stir others to join in and respond to Him too.
